About Us

What began as a chance encounter between two gals at a Fly Shop, one an experienced fisher, the other not, grew into our Women Anglers’ Guild of today. On November 13, 2007 our first official meeting was a party on a pontoon boat in the marina department, right next to Bass Pro White River Fly Shop where our two founders met.

Now we gather at 7pm on the second Wednesday of each month at the Bass Pro Conservation Room. (no more pontoon parties) Our monthly activities include fly tying, guest speakers, a fly casting class/game at a park or a fishing picnic at a local lake. We annually take an out-of-town fishing trip or two at our own expense. And we have FUN and catch FISH!

We also organize fund raising events that allow us to award a scholarship each year to a Missouri or Kansas female college student in the field of conservation and environment. Our first scholarship was awarded in 2012.

We invite any woman who is interested in fishing, from beginner to experienced, fly fishing or cane pole, to become a member of our group! Just go to Contact in the header.
